Kit Sam Canadian Summer Immersion Programme 2024

Day 10 20/7/2024 Free day with host family Today was the tenth day of the trip. After a busy and exhausting, but enriching, full week, today is a weekend that we can take a good rest and prepare for the final week of this trip. This morning, we took a really good rest. After that, we went to CrossIron Mills to go shopping. It was awesome! The mall is much larger than those in Hong Kong. Besides, we went to different stores in the mall to buy things, such as bags, snacks, or clothes. We also tried poutine, which many people had recommended for us to try. It is a very famous food in Canada, and it is delicious.   In the afternoon, after we went shopping at CrossIron Mills, when we got home, our host mom asked us if we were hungry. We said "Yes, we're very hungry." She said "Okay" and immediately started cooking something for us to eat. We went down and had some burgers and French fries, which are our favorite foods. Day 9 19/7/2024 School day + Sports day (Canadian football) Today was the 9th day of the trip. In the morning, we played Canadian football, as the afternoon was too hot. We first learned the rules of Canadian football. It was not too hard to understand. The field is 110 yards long with 2 end zones. We need to catch the ball and run to the end zone to score. After arriving at the field, Mr. McDonald taught us how to throw and pass the ball. The ball was so hard that it made our fingers feel very painful when we caught it. Before we started the competition, Ms. Janet brought some popsicles for us, which helped us cool down. For the competition, there were two teams: the Yellow Birds and GC. In the first round, the Yellow Birds scored. But in the second and third rounds, GC scored. Finally, we shook hands to represent our friendship. It was really interesting.
