Free day with host family + Canadian Football League


This morning, after breakfast, I saw Ms. Clarke helping Mr. Clarke get a haircut, as she said that getting a haircut in Canada was very expensive. It took $40 CAD for a simple haircut.




After that, we packed up our dinner with our host mom as we went shopping before the Canadian Football League game. Before we left our house, the dog Nashe from the neighbors came to our house and slept on Daisy's leg. He was adorable! We went to a shop in Airdrie that contained lots of Jellycat toys. Since they were lovely and I couldn't resist the temptation, I bought one of them😋.





Then, we went to the McMahon Stadium to watch the match between the BC Lions and the Stampeders. The game was amazing, and we enjoyed it a lot. We were shocked when the Stampeders scored because there were fireworks, and a horse would run around the field. I had never seen that before, so I loved it so much!😚

Day 1 11/7/2024 Hong Kong→ Vancouver→ Calgary Here we goooooo! Calgary, we are coming!!! Today was the first day of the trip. We were so excited. After saying goodbye to our parents, we were heading towards our flight to Vancouver. We were all looking forward to the Immersion Programme.   While waiting on board, we used our dolls to take photos with the boarding pass, and it looks adorable!     We met Mr. and Mrs. McDonald and our host family at the airport. Both of us rushed into Mr. and Mrs. McDonald as we had missed them a lot! After that, we met our host dad and host mom. They were so nice, fun, and friendly. We always laughed because of their jokes. They told us that this was the first time for them being a host family, so they were excited. On the way back home, Mr. and Mrs. Clarke brought us to buy a muffin and a drink from Tim Hortons. Day 2 - School day + University of Calgary Tour

Day 2 12/7/2024 School day + University of Calgary Tour Today was the second day of the trip. We are so tired as the plane delayed for three hours, and we arrived in Calgary almost at midnight. But we still had class today in the morning.        For the first day at school, we met Mr. McDonald and Mr. Jeff, who are the teachers. A book called "Bridge to Terabithia" was distributed to us for reading. Mr. McDonald taught us some reading techniques through reading the book together. He was a funny and friendly teacher. After that, we had our lunch and went to visit the University of Calgary, which is bigger than the University of Hong Kong. There are a lot of facilities, such as the library with six floors and the Olympic Oval. Although we were weary from walking around, we appreciated the advanced technology environment and the warm introduction from the tour guide. Day 5 - School day + Heritage Park Historical Village

Day 5  15/7/2024  School day + Heritage Park Historical Village Today was the fifth day of the trip. After a meaningful weekend, we kicked off a busy week by returning to class. As usual, we learned new vocabulary this morning, followed by a writing and reading lesson. For the writing session, we used the prompt "you will never believe what happened..." to create collaborative stories, passing the stories to the next student one by one. We managed to come up with a few wonderfully crazy and amazing stories. During the reading section, we all did a great job reading the stories aloud, as Jeff had praised.     After a lunch break, we set out to explore Heritage Park. We took the Tractor Wagon Ride from Heritage Plaza to the Ranch & Farm Life bus stop, where we had a 15-minute break to learn about the history of Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba.
