School day + Village Square Leisure Centre Water Park


We went to class in the morning as usual. In the lesson, we shared our feelings on the topic 'what is your impression of Calgary'. Through that, we discovered that we had already experienced a lot in Calgary, and our trip is coming to an end. We feel sad about that, as we don't want to leave this beautiful city. We think we will and must cherish the last few days of this journey!



In the afternoon, we went to the Village Square Leisure Centre Water Park! We were very excited to go to the water park, but when we finally got there, it was actually unexpected because the water park is not a really huge place, and one of the two long slides was closed today. But happily, we found a ball and spun around and played together. After a while, other kids in the pool joined us, and we played like we were old friends before, which was very cool and interesting!





For dinner, we had a rich meal at night. We had dumplings, spring rolls, rice, and cherries. The food was really great and delicious. We all enjoyed the meal tonight. This would be given 10 out of 10! 😁😁😁


    


 


Finally, we made ice cream and added some berries that we had picked last Friday with Janette. We loved the berries, as they were so sweet. That was a perfect match. We felt satisfied and delighted!

Day 1 11/7/2024 Hong Kong→ Vancouver→ Calgary Here we goooooo! Calgary, we are coming!!! Today was the first day of the trip. We were so excited. After saying goodbye to our parents, we were heading towards our flight to Vancouver. We were all looking forward to the Immersion Programme.   While waiting on board, we used our dolls to take photos with the boarding pass, and it looks adorable!     We met Mr. and Mrs. McDonald and our host family at the airport. Both of us rushed into Mr. and Mrs. McDonald as we had missed them a lot! After that, we met our host dad and host mom. They were so nice, fun, and friendly. We always laughed because of their jokes. They told us that this was the first time for them being a host family, so they were excited. On the way back home, Mr. and Mrs. Clarke brought us to buy a muffin and a drink from Tim Hortons. Day 2 - School day + University of Calgary Tour

Day 2 12/7/2024 School day + University of Calgary Tour Today was the second day of the trip. We are so tired as the plane delayed for three hours, and we arrived in Calgary almost at midnight. But we still had class today in the morning.        For the first day at school, we met Mr. McDonald and Mr. Jeff, who are the teachers. A book called "Bridge to Terabithia" was distributed to us for reading. Mr. McDonald taught us some reading techniques through reading the book together. He was a funny and friendly teacher. After that, we had our lunch and went to visit the University of Calgary, which is bigger than the University of Hong Kong. There are a lot of facilities, such as the library with six floors and the Olympic Oval. Although we were weary from walking around, we appreciated the advanced technology environment and the warm introduction from the tour guide. Day 5 - School day + Heritage Park Historical Village

Day 5  15/7/2024  School day + Heritage Park Historical Village Today was the fifth day of the trip. After a meaningful weekend, we kicked off a busy week by returning to class. As usual, we learned new vocabulary this morning, followed by a writing and reading lesson. For the writing session, we used the prompt "you will never believe what happened..." to create collaborative stories, passing the stories to the next student one by one. We managed to come up with a few wonderfully crazy and amazing stories. During the reading section, we all did a great job reading the stories aloud, as Jeff had praised.     After a lunch break, we set out to explore Heritage Park. We took the Tractor Wagon Ride from Heritage Plaza to the Ranch & Farm Life bus stop, where we had a 15-minute break to learn about the history of Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba.
