School day + Heritage Park Historical Village
Today was the fifth day of the trip. After a meaningful weekend, we kicked off a busy week by returning to class.
As usual, we learned new vocabulary this morning, followed by a writing and reading lesson. For the writing session, we used the prompt "you will never believe what happened..." to create collaborative stories, passing the stories to the next student one by one. We managed to come up with a few wonderfully crazy and amazing stories. During the reading section, we all did a great job reading the stories aloud, as Jeff had praised.
After a lunch break, we set out to explore Heritage Park. We took the Tractor Wagon Ride from Heritage Plaza to the Ranch & Farm Life bus stop, where we had a 15-minute break to learn about the history of Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba. We took plenty of photos during this time.
Next, we went to the S.S. Moyie and admired the beautiful lake. While on the boat, a very nice local woman chatted with us, giving us an opportunity to learn more about Canada and practice our English. It was a cheerful and interesting experience.
We then visited the Antique Midway and experienced the old amusement facilities. We went on the boat swing, the Ferris wheel, and the carousel - they were cool and fun. We also had some delicious food, such as French fries, ice cream, and onion rings. Although we were having so much fun, the most important thing was that we were learning about Canada's past.
Overall, it was a day filled with engaging learning experiences, from creative writing to exploring historical attractions. The trip continues to provide us with valuable opportunities to immerse ourselves in Canadian culture and history. We are really excited for the upcoming journey.
